The leaves are orange and yellow, some lie on the ground; crimson red. Most of the trees are naked, the air is chilly, yet warm at the same time. It has been the warmest October “ever” in Norway, and still snow is in the air. You can smell it, sometimes even feel it, but it does not come down. Not yet, as flying pieces of paper, drifting towards the ground. Not yet, we’ll have to wait. It’s still Fall, remember.

Halloween is now over, and in a couple of days there will be big sales going on. Stores trying to get rid of plastic pumpkins and witches with green faces. We’re in Norway, right, with all our trolls and mythical creatures, and still we seek the pumpkins instead of our actual culture. We could always adapt Halloween, I don’t mind a proper celebration of Autumn, but maybe not this way. We could always have used some things of what we’ve already got. Instead of creating a whole new world, which no one can really relate to.
We are at Autumn’s peak, the most falling era of Fall, the world is as always going near its end, and chaos is the only thing in front of us. History has its way of repeating itself, has it not?
The air is cold, and the scenery as beautiful as ever. It’s now November, day two, the colourfullness of September and October is gone. Now there is nothing but snow and grayness awaiting us, we think.
But what about seeing the sun playing on the surface of a naked birch, the birds preparing for winter, and let the wind play in your hair. You can see the orange earth, and a blue sky, who did ever say that Autumn is colourless?

This is amazing. Your writing has a poetic tune to it. It makes it easy to read, no actually it makes it soothing to read. As if it speaks to a greater part of you.
I do agree with you. We should learn to embrace our own culture instead of taking part in this “Americanization” as I call it. (Norwegian myself too)
PS: Keep writing, your words are inspirational. I dare say you are gifted.
